Cho Gi Seok

Cho Gi Seok is a Korean surrealist and fashion photographer and owner of his fashion brand ‘KUSIKOHC’. He includes his Korean heritage into his art practice, creating a symbol with props in his practice; his portraits are described as abstract due to his unusual ideas, such as having liquid rolling down the models eyes and flying fish around the models head. Gi Seok has also worked with many magazines such as Vogue Korea, Dazed Korea and brands such as Prada and Converse.

Nhu Xuan Hua

Nhu Xuan Hua is a Vietnamese-French fashion photographer. She photographs narrative and conceptual visuals including mixed-media. After moving to London, she has commissioned for many fashion brands such as Dior and Gucci. In 2021, she moved back to Paris to explore story-telling in her art practice alongside fashion photography.

She has also worked with archival work for her first publication ‘Tropism, Consequences of a displaced Memory. Archived pictures of her family, said to be explored by the effect of dissipation of memory.

Rosanna Jones

Rosanna Jones is a photographer and mixed-media artist, living in London. She graduated from Falmouth University with a Bachelor in Fashion Photography. Her art practice is about experimental blend of art and photography, looking at her art outside of 2D form. Over the years, mixed-media included painting, ripping, burning; creating portraits that cannot be seen as 2D or flat. Jones works with many clients and brands such as Columbia Records, Warner Music Group, Gucci, Asos, Dickies and many more.

Michelangelo Pistoletto, born in Biella in 1933 is an Italian painter and art theorist. His early work included self-portraiture which was exhibited during 1955 till 1960 as his first show at Galleria Galatea, Turin. Up until 1967, Pistoletto began collaborating with other artists with different art practices and diverse sectors of society.

Anne Noble

Anne Noble is a recognisable New Zealand contemporary photographers, capturing the perceptions of nature to honeybee, creating bodies of work around the subjects of which she has a personal connection with, like her hometown in Whanganui, wanting to know more about the rivers; creating Wanganui River, 1980. She challenges herself to show a different way of looking at the world.

Cindy Sherman

Cindy Sherman is an artist from America who works mainly with self-portraits in different contexts. The meaning behind Cindy’s work is experimenting with identities; she stated if she could, she would treat every day like Halloween so she can go out and dress up as an eccentric character. She has portrayed characters such as the jaded seductress, the unhappy housewife, jilted lover, and the vulnerable naif; she has associated her work with feminism and stereotypes of women. However, in 2020 she created a series of photos that explores the idea of masculinity such as gender roles as part of her “Doctor and Nurse” series.

Mickalene Thomas

Mickalene Thomas is an African-American artist who does a variety of paintings, collages, photography, and video work. Her work is a “contemporary vision of female sexuality, beauty, and power”; defining gender and identity that also relates to black women. Mickalene says photography is playing a central role in her practice; she carefully uses historical pieces and uses them in contemporary culture through many different ways of photography such as portraiture, landscape, still life, and female nude.

Edith Amituanai

Edith Amituanai is a New Zealand contemporary photographer, she does a lot of community-style photography around her Samoan heritage and Auckland, where she grew up. She works a lot with capturing people in the moment than staged photos.
